How important is it to have a platonic friendship or “Ally”?

How important is it to have a plantonic friendship? Is it good having an ally from the opposite with whom you could just confide in? I have one true platonic friendship (she’s 2.5 years younger and we’ve known each other since before I went through puberty) and a few lesser ones.

Do platonic friendships help with dealing with romantic ones (with other ppl)?

The opposite *** and get different things and you actually deal with the opposite *** and such its not super important to talk with romantic interest then at least you will know what girls like and such its not super important to establish base when.
For more opportunity you will know what girls like and get different perspective on certain situations good luck.
