How would you fix a friendship when you messed up everything because of an illness?

What if you messed up a friendship with somebody you really care about through having borderline personality disorder. They say they want nothing more to do with you and forever they have meant it, but now you realize you were just sick and that had to do with the way you treated them. How can it be fixed?

Firstly, make sure the disease is treated and controlled. After that, go back with proof that everything was the fault of the illness, which is no longer present. If one still holds a grudge after that, it may well be too late.

All you can do is sent a note apologizing and saying you have since gotten help to deal with some issues and keep it simple. If they dont respond you must let it go. Give them time to respond….
