What does mutual friendship mean exactly?

Jack P asked:

I was dating someone who said he just want a mutual friendship. What’s the difference between a “mutual” friendship and just a normal friendship. Is there a difference or am I just looking into this to much?

For example to true friendship where friends only for something for example to copy your coursework or want something for example to true friendship is like where and your coursework or want something from you both friends help each other there are friends help each other.
Friendship is like where friends help each other without any selfishness ^_^.
