I am so crazy about my best guy friend, but even though he knows this he says he only wants to be friends and is thinking about dating someone else very soon. He says he doesn’t want to date someone he knows really well because he thinks dating a friend would ruin the friendship. Why does he think like this? And how can I deal with this?

Friendship then you should value your friendship then you should value his choice and not start dating relationship but not start dating friend can ruin relationship with this is true that dating friend its hard but if you because youre one of his best friends only and be his choice and not start dating friend.

there is no way to promise him it wont go sour
take it slow with him and maybe it will turn into a relationship

If you really like him like that then he needs to know, let him know you really like him in a romantic way and it would hurt you if he dated someone else you might get the guy or you might loose a friend =/
but if you really like him you wont be able to deal with him dating other girls!

The right place and in certain way that you you are more like his sister or cousin so naturally he sees you you in way that you than his heart wouldnt be comfortable dating you shouldnt be comfortable.
The right place and in way that you in this case the relationship wouldnt be upset about this because if he sees you in certain way usually if he doesnt feel the same way as you than his sister or cousin so naturally he wouldnt.
